How to meet Customer´s Specific Requirements when implementing IATF
The standard IATF 16949 in its version 2016 has 290 requirements. All of them are mandatory and must have evidence of their implementation in order to have a successful certification. 132 requirements are from ISO 9001. Additionally, other requirements are from the Core Tools.
- APQP CP
- AMEF
- PPAP
- SPC
- MSA
These tools have additional mandatory requirements that the organization should meet. Finally, your client can ask extra requirements, specific customer requierements, through a Supplier Manual, Technical Drawings, Contracts, etc.
To meet all these requirements, I suggest reading thoroughly your client’s documentation and comparing it’s needs with IATF. You can do this with a table. If you have multiple clients, I suggest doing a Master Table and identifying common and particular requirements for each of them. This is a simple strategy that can save you much time.
